Depart Australia and arrive Canada on the same day! Upon arrival, we are met and transferred to our hotel. A Welcome Dinner is included tonight. (D) |

DAY 2: Thursday 27 |
"THE CANADIAN”TRAIN |
|
Today we will enjoy a half day tour of Vancouver's North Shore. Our day will start (not too early!) with a stop at the famous historic Capilano Suspension Bridge, one of the world's longest suspension bridges, above the Capilano Canyon. We continue our excursion onboard the famous Grouse Mountain Skyride, a journey like no other! Later today we will transfer to the VIA Rail station and board "The Canadian" Train for our journey eastwards. (B) |
Our train journey continues through the unspoiled wilderness, lush river valleys and the majestic Rocky Mountain beauty. We travel through Jasper National Park, which is full of wildlife, and is one of the largest natural areas in North America. Upon arrival in Jasper we will be transferred to our hotel. (B) |

DAY 4: Saturday 29 |
JASPER |
|
Explore the charming town of Jasper that started out as a settlement of three log houses which became known as "Jasper Houses”. The three houses supplied the Rocky Mountain voyageurs. Highlights of our tour include Pyramid and Patricia Lakes, Athabasca Falls and the beautiful Maligne Canyon, with its limestone walls falling a stunning 50 metres. (B) |

DAY 5: Sunday 30 |
LAKE LOUISE |
|
Today we travel southward along one of the most spectacular highways in North America. The Icefield Parkway is highlighted by occasional wildlife sightings. Upon arrival at Lake Louise we transfer to our hotel. The remainder of today is at leisure. The massive Victoria Glacier and snow frosted Rocky Mountains provide a stunning backdrop to Lake Louise in all its frozen splendour. Each year Chateau chefs create an intricate Ice Castle from huge blocks of ice to highlight the world's most spectacular ice skating rink. (B) |

Travelling the Bow Valley Parkway, we will make a photo stop at one of the many views of Castle Mountain, stopping at Johnston Canyon and passing Vermilion Lakes before arriving in Banff. The rest of the day is free for you to explore all that this scenic alpine community has to offer. Browse charming boutiques, visit local galleries, or take a stroll along the historic Bow River. Tonight we will celebrate New Years Eve Canadian Style at ‘Wild Bill's Bar and Restaurant' (across from our hotel). Dinner, live band, dancing and champagne are all included. (B, D) |

DAY 7: Tuesday 1 January |
BANFF |

Today's sightseeing in Banff will highlight many local delights including Bow Falls, the Hoodoo Lookout, and Surprise Corner. We will ride up the Banff Gondola for a panoramic 360° view of the six surrounding mountain ranges. (B) |

On leaving the Banff Park gates, we pass through the town of Canmore, nestled in the shadow of the Rockies on the Bow River. We travel through Bow Valley Provincial Park, gateway to the Rockies from the east, before leaving the mountains behind and entering the foothills as we make our way to Calgary Airport. Board our flight for Montreal. Upon arrival in Montreal we are met and transferred to our hotel. (B) |

DAY 9: Thursday 3 |
MONTREAL |
|
Today enjoy a half day tour of Montreal, which has a very European feel to it. This tour will take us to Old Montreal including a visit to the Notre-Dame Basilica, the Port, Jean-Drapeau Park (St. Helen's and Notre-Dame Islands), the Botanical Gardens and the Olympic Park, the Latin Quarter, Mount Royal Park and St. Joseph's Oratory, the residential areas of Westmount, the downtown area and the Underground City. MONTREAL |
The day is yours to explore this snow clad cosmopolitan city. Montreal offers colourful neighbourhoods, great shopping and fine cuisine. (B) |

DAY 11: Saturday 5 |
QUEBEC CITY |
Transfer to the Railway Station. We will then travel VIA Rail from Montreal to Quebec City. Upon arrival in Quebec City we will transfer to our downtown Quebec City Hotel. (B) |

QUEBEC CITY |

Enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of Quebec City, the cradle of French civilization in North America, Quebec City is the only fortified city north of Mexico. Experience the charm of the first French settlement in North America. This is your chance to see history first hand. The Latin Quarter, Plains of Abraham, Ramparts, world famous Chateau Frontenac, National Assembly, Basilica, City Hall, Place Royal and the Citadelle are the perfect introduction to the city. (B) |

DAY 13: Monday 7 |
QUEBEC CITY |

The day is yours to enjoy the charm of Quebec City. Walk the Plains of Abraham, where the fate of North America was decided in 1759. Enjoy sidewalk cafes and outdoor displays by Quebec artists, set among more than 400 years of history. A Farewell Dinner is included at our hotel. (B, D) |
