DAY 1: Sunday 23 September |
ARRIVE ZAGREB |

Join the group at our central hotel in Zagreb today. Tonight, we have a Welcome Dinner where you will meet your Tour Manager and fellow travellers. (D) |
After breakfast, we take a morning tour to discover the capital of Croatia. We will be guided through the old city and see St-Marc Church, the Croatian National Theatre and Cathedral and the University of Zagreb, created in 1696. The afternoon is at your leisure. (B) |
This morning we depart for Slovenia and Bled Lake. We visit the Bled Castle and take a boat ride on a traditional ‘pletna’ boat, (an old fashioned wooden rowing boat), visit a church and a famous wishing bell. The afternoon is free for you to relax and explore your beautiful surroundings. (B,L) |

DAY 4: Wednesday 26 |
OPATIJA |
|
After breakfast this morning, we drive to the Postojna Caves. We take an electric train part way into the caves then have a guided walk through a series of cave halls that show the best of stalagmites and stalactites, these create an unforgettable experience. We then continue on to Opatija, a lovely seaside town in the Gulf of Kvarner. (B,D) |

DAY 5: Thursday 27 |
OPATIJA |
|
Today we drive to the Pula region. The area is strewn with elegant, classical monuments such as the small Roman Theatre, Temple of Augustus, the Triumphal Arch of Sergi and the Vespasian Amphitheatre. We return to Opatija, and the rest of the day is at leisure. (B) |

This morning we depart Opatija and head towards the Plitvice Lakes National Park which is on UNESCO’s list of World Natural Heritage sites. Surrounded by dense woods, Plitvice Lakes are a natural phenomenon of rare and unique beauty and include sixteen lakes, each at a different level, joined by a series of cascading waterfalls. We will have lunch in the National Park at Licka Kuca Lake Restaurant before driving on to Zadar, which lies on a sheltered peninsula on the Adriatic Sea. (B, L,D) |

DAY 7: Saturday 29 |
TROGIR |
|
After breakfast, we have a tour of Zadar and its cultural monuments including the Roman forum of St Donatus church. We then head south and travel through charming fishing villages and sun-drenched Adriatic resorts. After checking into our Hotel in Trogir we have an in-depth tour of this gracious city by the sea. After a short drive to Split we have a city tour. Highlights include remains of the original palace, a colonnaded square and the Temple of Jupiter. Also the famous Diocletian Palace (UNESCO-Heritage listed), a unique monument of Roman architecture from the 3rd century. We will have lunch in Split. The rest of the afternoon is free to enjoy this lovely town by the sea before returning to our hotel late this afternoon. (B,L) |

DAY 9: Monday 1 October |
DUBROVNIK |
|
Today we depart for Mostar, Bosnia where we will spend the day. At the time of the Turkish Empire, Mostar had a great importance for trade and with the passing years, several cultures and religions have left their traces on the city. We will discover the old Bazaar, the old Turkish city and museum, the museum of Bosnia and the Bridge of Mostar, symbol of the city. We will have some free time before we drive on to Dubrovnik. (B) |

DAY 10: Tuesday 2 |
DUBROVNIK |
|
Today we have a tour of the UNESCO-listed Dubrovnik old town. This ancient town, surrounded by ramparts and fortresses, is a treasure trove of architectural and cultural masterpieces, scrupulously preserved over the centuries. A pleasant walk will take us to the Rectors Palace, the Cathedral and the Franciscan Monastery with its 14th century pharmacy. The afternoon is free for you to relax, shop or wander the old town city walls. (B) |

This morning we have breakfast at the Hotel Grand with panoramic views of the surrounding islands and Peljesac Peninsula. We then depart by boat to the island of Korcula, one of the most beautiful medieval cities on the Adriatic and considered to be the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. We will visit the cultural and historical monuments of the island before we continue on to Ston. Ston was one of the first planned urban cities in Europe and visitors are attracted by the 5km stone walls protecting the town. The Peljesac Peninsula region is famous for the production of high quality red wines made from the Zinfandel grapes. We will stop for a tasting of some local products (wine, smoked ham and cheese) before returning to Dubrovnik late this afternoon. (B) |

Today we will spend the day in Montenegro (often referred to as Europe’s most southern fjord). As we travel south and over the Croatian border, our first stop is the old town of Kotor, located along one of Montenegro’s most beautiful bays. We will visit the Maritime Museum and the St Tripun Cathedral. We then head to Budva, well-known for its beautiful examples of Mediterranean architecture. After a tour of the old city, we will have some free time before returning to Dubrovnik. This evening we have a Farewell Dinner with entertainment. (B, D) |
